Since their one and only Super Bowl in 1969, the Jets franchise has spent 54 years enduring nothing but disappointments, heartbreaks and head-scratchers. The introduction of one of football’s most talented players ever to a team with everything but a quarterback seemed like the perfect recipe for finally turning things around. 




This was the Jets’ chance to hook their wagon to a four-time MVP and let his proven track record of success power Gang Green past their putrid reputation of self-sabotage, and into the promised land.


Of course, that pipe dream lasted just three plays.
